Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Last Updated: April 30, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of renovolocal.com and the services offered by RenovoLocal ("we," "us," "our"), a service of GrowthArmy LLC, a Washington limited liability company.

By using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. About RenovoLocal

RenovoLocal operates a marketplace that matches homeowners with independent, third-party contractors for home renovation and repair projects. We are a matching and lead-generation platform — not a contractor, builder, or service provider.

We do not:

  • Perform contracting work
  • Employ the contractors listed on our platform
  • Manage projects or supervise contractor work
  • Guarantee contractor availability, quality, pricing, or timelines
  • Provide warranties on work performed by contractors

We do:

  • Verify that contractors hold an active license and insurance at the time of onboarding
  • Match homeowner project inquiries with contractors who service the area and project type
  • Operate an AI receptionist to qualify project inquiries
  • Facilitate communications between homeowners and contractors
  • Charge contractors for matched leads (homeowners are not charged)

2. Independent Contractor Relationship

Every contractor on RenovoLocal is an independent business, not an employee, agent, or representative of RenovoLocal or GrowthArmy LLC.

When you hire a contractor matched through our platform:

  • Your contract is between you and the contractor — RenovoLocal is not a party
  • Payment is made directly to the contractor — RenovoLocal does not process homeowner payments to contractors
  • Disputes about work quality, pricing, scope, scheduling, or warranty are between you and the contractor
  • We have no authority to compel contractor performance, refund work, or guarantee outcomes

We strongly recommend that homeowners obtain written contracts, confirm licensing and insurance independently, and follow standard hiring best practices before any work begins.

3. Verification Limitations

At contractor onboarding, we verify:

  • The contractor holds a current state license appropriate to their service category (where applicable)
  • The contractor holds general liability insurance with current coverage
  • The contractor has provided a valid business identity

Verification is performed at onboarding and may not reflect current status. Licenses can lapse, insurance policies can be cancelled, and businesses can change ownership without notice. Verification by RenovoLocal does not constitute:

  • A warranty of the contractor's quality, workmanship, or reliability
  • A guarantee that licensing and insurance remain current
  • An endorsement or recommendation
  • Legal or professional advice

Homeowners are responsible for independently verifying a contractor's current license, insurance, bonding, and references before hiring. State licensing boards and insurance carriers can confirm current status.

4. No Warranty on Contractor Work

RenovoLocal makes no representations or warranties regarding:

  • The quality or workmanship of any contractor's work
  • The accuracy of any contractor's pricing estimates or completion timelines
  • The condition of materials used by contractors
  • Compliance with building codes, permitting requirements, or local regulations
  • Worker safety, jobsite conditions, or property protection during work

Any disputes regarding workmanship, materials, scheduling, or pricing are exclusively between the homeowner and the contractor.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, fraudulent, or misleading project inquiries
  • Submit project inquiries on behalf of someone else without authorization
  • Submit inquiries for projects you don't intend to hire for (testing, market research, competitive intelligence)
  • Use automated systems, scrapers, or bots to access the service
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, security measures, or platform restrictions
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the platform
  • Use the service to harass, defame, or harm contractors or other users
  • Submit malicious content, spam, or content that violates third-party rights

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts and submissions that violate these rules, with or without notice.

6. Contractor Account Terms

Contractors who claim a listing or create an account on RenovoLocal additionally agree to the following:

6.1 Verification Requirements

Contractors must complete all four verification gates before purchasing credits or receiving leads:

  1. Email verification
  2. License verification (admin-reviewed)
  3. Insurance verification (admin-reviewed)
  4. Onboarding call completion

Contractors must maintain accurate license and insurance information and notify us within 14 days if either lapses.

6.2 Lead Credits

Lead credits are purchased in advance and never expire. Each lead delivered to a contractor consumes credits based on:

  • Service type base price (set per state)
  • Urgency multiplier (Emergency 1.75×, Standard 1.0×, Planning 0.75×)
  • Lead status tier (Qualified = full price, Unreached = 50%, Rejected = no charge)

Pricing is subject to change with 30 days notice.

6.3 Lead Quality and Refunds

Contractors may request a credit refund for delivered leads that were:

  • Provided with materially false contact information that prevented contact
  • Outside the contractor's specified service area due to a geocoding error
  • For a service category the contractor did not opt into
  • Already hired by another contractor (with proof) at the time of lead delivery

Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of lead delivery via the contractor dashboard. RenovoLocal reviews each request and decisions are final.

6.4 Contractor Conduct

Contractors agree to:

  • Respond to matched leads within 24 hours
  • Provide accurate quotes and clearly explain pricing before any work begins
  • Maintain professional conduct in all communications with homeowners
  • Honor any free estimate or inspection commitments made via the platform
  • Not misuse homeowner contact information beyond the matched project

Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination without refund of unused credits.

6.5 Termination

Either party may terminate the contractor account at any time. Unused credits are non-refundable upon voluntary account closure. If we terminate an account for cause (verification fraud, repeated quality complaints, abuse), unused credits are forfeit.

7. Fees and Payment

The RenovoLocal service is free for homeowners. Homeowners pay nothing to use our matching service.

Contractors purchase credits in packages ranging from $1,500 to $15,000. All fees are non-refundable except as described in Section 6.3. Payment is processed by Stripe.

We reserve the right to update credit pricing, package structures, and lead pricing with 30 days notice to active contractors.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on renovolocal.com, including the design, logos, copy, code, and platform functionality, is owned by GrowthArmy LLC or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without written permission. Limited license is granted for personal, non-commercial use of the platform as intended.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • For homeowners: Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to $0 (the service is free) or $100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages including lost profits, lost data, or property damage caused by contractors.

  • For contractors: Our total liability is limited to the amount of credits purchased in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for the actions, work quality, pricing, or conduct of any contractor matched through the platform.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RenovoLocal, GrowthArmy LLC, and our officers, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any law or third-party right
  • Disputes between you and any contractor (or homeowner) you connect with through the platform
  • Misuse of the platform

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that defects will be corrected.

12. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these Terms or the use of our services shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules.

  • Arbitration shall take place in King County, Washington unless both parties agree to another location
  • The arbitrator's decision is final and binding
  • Each party bears their own attorneys' fees and costs
  • Class action waiver: You agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding
  • Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or breaches that would cause irreparable harm

You may opt out of this arbitration provision by emailing legal@renovolocal.com within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any litigation not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email (for account holders) or prominent notice on the site at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RenovoLocal regarding the service.
